2026 Chinese New Year Outreach @ Ampang Old Folks Home

In the spirit of joy, gratitude and togetherness that defines Chinese New Year, Yayasan TZA brought festive cheer to the residents of Ampang Old Folks Home through a heartfelt celebration with 65 elderly residents. The visit was organised to ensure that the warmth and happiness of the festive season could be shared with those who may otherwise celebrate quietly or alone. Volunteers and representatives from Yayasan TZA spent meaningful time with the residents, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter, conversation, and companionship.

A highlight of the celebration was the traditional yee sang tossing session, a cherished Chinese New Year ritual symbolising prosperity, good fortune and blessings for the year ahead. The event continued with a vibrant lion dance performance that brought energy and excitement to the home. The rhythmic drums, lively movements of the lion dancers and the festive music delighted the residents.

Through initiatives such as this, Yayasan TZA continues to reaffirm its commitment to building compassionate communities where no one feels forgotten, especially during festive seasons that are meant to be shared. The celebration at Ampang Old Folks Home served as a reminder that small gestures of care and presence can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. At Yayasan TZA, we believe that celebrations become truly meaningful when moments of joy are shared with those around us, fostering a spirit of togetherness, respect, and compassion across all generations.
