Green & Grow Project at Zoo Negara

There is something truly special about spending a day surrounded by nature, united by a shared purpose. Recently, Yayasan TZA had the privilege of organising a volunteer programme at Zoo Negara, Kuala Lumpur. More than just a volunteering activity, the programme served as a reminder that every small act of kindness can contribute towards building a more sustainable future for our environment.

Throughout the day, our volunteers took part in a variety of meaningful activities that support the daily care and wellbeing of the animals. From preparing nutritious diets and assisting with enclosure upkeep to supporting animal enrichment initiatives, participants experienced first-hand the dedication required to care for Malaysia’s incredible wildlife.

What made the programme especially memorable was the spirit of togetherness that could be felt throughout the day. Volunteers from different backgrounds came together with a common goal, to make a positive impact. It was inspiring to witness how a community united by compassion can create meaningful change through collective action.

At Yayasan TZA, we believe that creating a better future begins with nurturing a deeper appreciation for the world around us. Environmental conservation is not solely the responsibility of organisations or experts, it is a journey that requires the participation of individuals, families and communities alike.

We extend our sincere appreciation to every volunteer who generously gave their time, energy and heart to make this programme a success. We look forward to continuing this journey and creating many more opportunities to give back to our communities, our environment and the future we all share.
